The Marrickville Soccer Football Club was founded in 1945 by Bruce Livingston, who as a student at Newington College played soccer each afternoon, after school, at Henson Park. During 1945, two friendly matches were played against Drummoyne Club Under - 14 team. One match was lost and one won.

In 1946 the Club was formed along official lines and two teams were entered in the Canterbury and District Soccer Football Association, one Under-12 and one Under-14.

The foundation executive comprised of President, Mr A Ireland Snr., Secretary, Bruce Livingston, Treasurer, Mrs J E McKechnie. The two teams performed well, with the Under-12 team finishing equal second with two other teams.

Two Members have been made life-members, Bruce Livingston in 1961 and Mr A Ireland in 1964. The current club officials are listed on the About Us page.

The number of teams and players have steadily increased over the years, with teams from Under 6's to All Ages. There are mixed teams and separate women's and girl's teams.

The home ground has always been in the Marrickville District, in fact it was not until 1958 that the Club finally settled on Mackey Park. The Marrickville Council has steadily improved amenities and playing fields. Mackey Park now has three full size fields, one mini field, Kiosk, Dressing room, Toilet Facilities and now provides Referees.

The Marrickville Soccer Football Club celebrated it's 60th year anniversary in 2006 and the most recent Socceroos to come from the the Marrickville Red Devils are Tommie McCullock and Tim Cahill.

In 2007, Marrickville Soccer Football Club became Marrickville Football Club (MFC). In 2008, Ron Royston, club president, celebrates 50 years of service with Marrickville Football Club - going strong, Ron!
